Lincs Substation news

Fugro Renewables completed a £2.5 million contract with Centrica Renewable Energy Ltd to assist with the installation of an electrical substation at the Lincs offshore wind farm. Located 8 km east of Skegness and covering 35 square kilometres, the development lies within one of the UK's most environmentally sensitive coastal regions.

The task was to secure the offshore substation's supporting jacket structure to the seabed after it had been lifted into place by Scaldis using its heavy lift crane barge Rembiz.

"I'm glad to report that the project was planned and executed to an exceptional standard, resulting in the works being completed ahead of programme," observed Tony Hodgson. "Coupled with no lost time injuries and no environmental incidents, the project was a resounding success."
