Fugro Seacore has a unique ability to design, develop, manufacture and operate bespoke equipment customised to meet clients' requirements, which means each contract is approached with tools tailor-made to suit every likely and often exceptional scenarios.
Examples of this successful approach have been FSCL's development of an innovative walking jack up 'Seawalker' which can be operated in conventional 4-legged mode or as an 8-legged, self-contained walking jackup platform, capable of safely operating in water depths up to 20 metres. In its 8 leg configuration, this versatile jack-up can move and operate in rough seas, strong currents or on beaches and other intertidal locations.
Recently FSCL developed the world's first 6.5m diameter pile top drill, which was designed for a client to drill a 63 metre deep marine shaft. FSCL's solution required a new 90 tonne reverse circulation drill rig (T90) with 400t pull back capability to be designed and built with all new down-hole equipment. The total drill string weight was over 235Te including the 62Te bit which was dressed with tungsten carbide roller cutters. The build process from concept to commissioning took 8 months.
FSCL is continually researching and developing innovative marine solutions, with over 34 years experience in providing unique, effective and efficient methods for clients across the globe.
